Calming Your Reactions: A Mindfulness Approach
Do you struggle with anxiousness and depression, have difficulty sleeping, suffer with pain, need to decrease your stress?
A Mindful Approach teaches a natural, medically proven strategy for managing these conditions that affect our mind and body and cause disease.
No matter what we wrestle with, it is our thoughts that increase the negative experience. Our lack of awareness of what we are thinking and what our body is feeling allows the negative experience to escalate. We react with “knee jerk”, automatic reactions. By learning to sit and watch our thinking and our body, we learn to allow whatever experience to be and learn to notice how the experience changes if we wait without passing judgment. Our relationship to the suffering changes. Internally, what is happening is that we switch from “fight/flight mode” to “rest and restore”. This is the therapeutic benefit that improves anxiety, depression, pain, sleep, and heart disease amongst other concerns.
“Calming Your Reactions”, a Mindful Approach is a shortened version of Mindfulness based programs that are usually 8 weeks long. Participants will:
- Learn mindfulness meditation
- Increase present moment awareness of thoughts and body sensations
- Discover ways to apply this awareness to “calm your reactions” to dis-ease
- Have more control over emotions, pain and stress
